This event is co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health and the Division of Women’s Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, along with over a dozen arts, academic, healthcare, disability and women’s organizations, including the Cambridge Women’s Commission. The post-film panel will be moderated by Deborah Becker, senior correspondent/host at WBUR, National Public Radio’s Boston station. The post-film panel includes health care professionals, researchers and advocates. 

 

“When Harvard PhD student Jennifer Brea is struck down by a fever that leaves her bedridden, she sets out on a virtual journey to document her story as she fights a disease that medicine forgot.” This film is about ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), a disease that disables 28,000 in Massachusetts and 1 to 2.5 million in the U.S., 75% of whom are women.
